Value points using your own numbers
Miles starts every program at a suggested default value. You can override any of them, and Miles uses your number in every calculation.

Your valuations change the result
Points do not have a fixed value. The value of a World of Hyatt point, for example, depends on how you redeem it. Miles starts each major transferable currency, airline program, and hotel program at a suggested default. You can replace any default with your own value.
Miles uses your valuations to choose which card to get next, compare cards, decide whether to keep or cancel a card, and rank transfer options. If you raise your Hyatt valuation, Hyatt redemptions and transfer paths receive a higher calculated return.
Where the defaults come from
A point's value is a judgment, not a fact, so Miles does not present its defaults as the answer. Each one is a widely used published estimate that Miles carries in its dataset and revises when a program devalues or improves.
The defaults are there so Miles can compute a result before you have priced a point yourself. Miles does not overwrite a valuation you set, and you can reset any program to the current default.
